Mystical Serpent

Three pieces, one animal. We are born afraid of snakes, and everywhere that fear appeared, worship appeared beside it. Mystical Serpent carves the second thing: not the animal, but what people made of it, from the nagas of the Himalaya to the serpent dragons of China.

The serpent in Asia

In Buddhist and Himalayan tradition the nagas are serpent beings of water and the underworld, guardians of treasure and of the teaching, and the old enemies of the garuda. In China the serpent and the dragon share a long history. The ruyi the ring's serpent holds is the old sign for "as you wish", a wish for peace. We wrote about both in The Naga and The Snake Ring.

How they are made

Hand-carved S925 sterling silver with traditional 24K fire-gilding, the gold fused into the silver by fire (how it works), and refined red copper for the flames. Sizing help is in the ring size guide and cuff fit guide. More pieces from the same world are in Asian mythology jewelry. We make no claim that a serpent on silver protects anyone; we carve it for what it has meant.
