Cross two and it points four ways at once, with nothing left open behind you. In Buddhist cosmology the vishvavajra lies beneath Mount Meru at the base of the universe — the foundation nothing can shift — and it belongs to Amoghasiddhi, the buddha of all-accomplishing wisdom, whose quality is fearlessness and whose work is action carried through to the end. Karma means action. Gold melts at 1064°C, so the work happens inside a narrow window — hot enough to bond, not hot enough to run. Every detail is then engraved by hand under a 40× microscope, and here the gold has to follow lotus petals and flame scroll across four arms without filling a single undercut or crossing onto a stone. That is the fourteen days.

This is traditional fire-gilding: the 24K gold is fused into the silver by fire, not laid on its surface, so it becomes part of the piece — a real weight of gold, not a film.
