The world tree at the centre. One tree holds the middle of the band — the world tree, which is also the tree of life. In the old cosmologies it stands at the centre of everything and joins what is below to what is above. Its roots go down into the dark and hold; its branches keep going anyway. That is the whole of what it means: the centre of the world, and the stubbornness of living things.

2. Two coronation swords. A sword stands on either side of the tree — not a weapon of the field, but the sword laid on a shoulder at a crowning. The eternal knot on the hilts. Each hilt carries the Celtic eternal knot, a single line that crosses over and under itself and never arrives anywhere. Bramble along the blades. Celtic thorn vines wind the length of both blades. We put them there deliberately: the road to anything worth reaching is thorned the entire way. The gold goes where the eye should go. Traditional 24K fire-gilding picks out the Tree of Life in its roundel, the two crescent frames that hold it, the scrolls beside them, both sword blades and the braided grips. Stand at the centre of your own life. Carry whatever authority is yours without apologising for it. And when the sun and the moon come up in the same sky, take it the way it has always been meant: as the day the thing you were hoping for finds you.

Who This Was Made For

There is a particular person this was made for: the one standing at a threshold. The head. Every scale on the skull is raised and separate, so the silver catches light scale by scale rather than all at once. Gold that moves like a wave. Along the spine the gilding swells to a full crest, then thins scale by scale back into silver — the line a wave draws as it breaks. The sea. Silver waves curl over and under the body, cut in deep relief so that shadow collects underneath them. The tail. At the far end the body narrows, winds into a spiral, and disappears into a curl of carved silver cloud. The fear arrives before the thought — older than language, older than any of us. And everywhere that fear appeared, worship appeared beside it: the serpent cut into temple walls, coiled around the spring, set at the threshold to guard whatever mattered most.

This one we pushed further toward the divine. The gold does not sit where a jeweller would put it — it breaks along the spine the way light breaks on moving water, so the animal is lit from within rather than decorated on top. This is not a serpent wearing gold. It is a serpent that has become something else.

And it keeps moving. A serpent sheds its skin and walks out of it whole. Through the forest, through the water, through one shape after another — it does not end when it changes. It simply becomes the next version of itself.

That is why we made it.
